LONG-TERM OBJECTIVE

Richard Trombly's long-term career goal is to cover and promote space exploration and the aerospace industry. As an intermediary objective, he would like to work as a bureau chief or other news position that leverages his editorial and management experience, China business knowledge and language skills, and editorial contacts at Reed Business publications such as Industrial Distribution, Design News and Supply Chain Management Review, IDG's Computerworld and SourceMedia's Securities Industry News.

Obtained press coverage in The Boston Globe, the Springfield Republican, The Tech (MIT's campus newspaper) and other New England newspapers for these chapters of the national all-volunteer 5,000-member organization. Gave interviews to reporters and fielded press inquiries on behalf of other organizers. Co-chaired the 2002 MIT Mars Week international science conference, attended by approximately 400 scientists, aerospace students, representatives of private aerospace industry and officials from NASA and the Russian Space Agency.
